Wichita Tree Removal

When a tree has to come down, get the guy who's done it for twenty years

Tree removal is the riskiest job in this whole business. A big tree leaning over a roof, a dead limb hanging above the driveway, a trunk split down the middle after a Kansas thunderstorm — those aren't jobs for a guy with a borrowed chainsaw and a ladder. They're jobs for someone who knows how a tree is going to fall before he ever makes a cut. That's been Andy Baker's living since 2006.

Baker Tree Service removes trees of every size across Wichita and the surrounding Sedgwick County metro. Whether it's a 30-foot ornamental in an open backyard or a 70-foot cottonwood crowding the power line, we take it down in a controlled, planned way — rigging and lowering limbs when there's no room to drop them, and protecting your house, fence, garden, and the neighbor's property the entire time. When we leave, the tree is gone and the yard is clean.

Trees we remove every week in Wichita

  • Dead and dying trees — once a tree is dead it only gets more brittle and more dangerous. We take it down before it takes itself down on something you care about.
  • Hazardous & leaning trees — trees leaning toward the house, cracked at the base, or with major limbs over the roof or driveway.
  • Storm-damaged trees — split trunks, hung-up limbs, and trees uprooted by Kansas wind. We answer storm calls 24/7.
  • Trees too close to structures — roots lifting the driveway, branches in the gutters, a trunk pressing on the foundation or fence line.
  • Whole-yard clearing — multiple trees removed for a build, a new fence, a pool, or a fresh landscape.

Removal includes the cleanup — every time

A lot of cheaper outfits drop the tree and leave you with a yard full of brush and a stump in the ground. That's not how Baker works. Standard tree removal includes hauling away the wood and brush and raking the work area clean — unless you want to keep the wood for firewood, which is totally fine, just tell us.

Why we don't post a flat removal price

Every tree is different. A small tree in an open yard is a quick job. A tall tree wedged between a house and a fence, with limbs over the power line, takes rigging, a bigger crew, and a lot more care — and it should be priced for what it actually is, not from a chart. That's why Andy comes out and looks at the tree in person, then gives you an honest price on the spot. Estimates are always free, and there's no pressure to book. As a rough guide, most residential removals in the Wichita area fall somewhere between a few hundred dollars for a small tree and a few thousand for a large, complicated takedown near a structure — but the real number comes from seeing the tree.

Fully insured — and you should never settle for less

Tree removal carries real risk to your property and to the crew doing it. Baker Tree Service is fully insured. If anyone ever knocks on your door after a storm offering to take a tree down without proof of insurance, send them away — one bad cut on an uninsured job and the damage to your roof or your neighbor's house is on you.
